STAKES AVAILABLE FOR YOUR WHIRLIBIRDS

Conduit Adapter (nylon bushing) is an attachment for mounting your Whirlibird in the ground. Use this easy-to-use attachment with a 4 feet long section of standard 1/2" electrical conduit and your Whirlgig turns freely.

Whirlibirds.com effective January 1, 2001 now has a conduit stake 4 feet long with a nylon bushing and nail for inserting into the conduit stake for mounting your whirlibird in the ground as shown on the left of this text. (this is for person that is not able to procure their own stakes for mounting )

The conduit, nylon bushing and nail included shipping and handling is now $20.00 each

Procedure for setting up the metal stake to accept the Whirlibird is:

Lay a piece of wood on top of the conduit stake when driving it in the ground so no damage can be done to the hole where you insert the nylon bushing. Drive the stake in the ground about a foot, or so that it is steady. Place the nylon bushing in top of the stake and then drive the nail in center of the nylon bushing. ( do not let the Whirlibird ride on the nylon bushing ) when this is completed mount the Whirlibird on top of the nail and sit back and relax and watch the wind make it fly.

SETTING UP YOUR WHIRLIGIGS

If you take a few minutes to properly install your whirlibird, it should give you years of pleasure. The main considerations are that the setup is strong enough to endure wind in your area, and that the wings or legs on your whirlibird don't hit obstructions -- such as top of the fence.

Safety precuations, moving parts can spin fast. Install so as to not present a danger to other people.

Using a Pole - To get the height needed for clearance, most people use a pole or dowel. To avoid splitting the pole, you may need to drill a 3/16" diameter hole 1 " deep. Then tap the setup nail that was included with your Whirlibird point down into the hole. The Whirlibird should be able to turn freely on a setup nail, without scraping the top of the pole. Also make sure your Whirlibird doesn't hit the side of the pole as it turns. If you don't have a setup nail, then cut the head off a 20d penny sized four inch galvanized common nail.

PLEASE NOTE: PRICES ON THE WHIRLIBIRDS ARE STILL PRICED ON USA SHIPMENTS INCLUDING THE POSTAGE... ONLY FOREIGN SHIPMENTS NEED TO E-MAIL ME FOR ADDITIONAL SHIPPING COSTS...TO YOUR SPECIFIC DESTINATION!!
